Alexeieff: Moving Pictures
June 6, 2014
Original 1929 signed lithographs by the Russian artist Alexander Alexeieff, exhibited together with a looped screening of Alexeieff's 1930's animated pinboard films created with Claire Parker. Jaques Drouin, acclaimed animator from the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal, spoke at the opening and screened one of his own films created using Alexeieff’s original pinscreen, which is housed at the NFB. This exhibit was from the private collection of the now late Cecile Starr, former professor of film at Columbia University and Burlington resident.
Guest curated from the collection of Cecile Starr by Susan Smereka and Joseph Pensak
